Elizabeth Banks plays nice with Emily Browning in "The Uninvited"

As Elizabeth Banks is at the top of our pantheon of entertainment goddesses and inspired the title of this Web site, we thought it appropriate to begin by expressing our excitement over the U.S. premiere of “The Uninvited” this Friday, Jan. 30.

Not only is the divine Ms. Banks taking a break from her well known comedic stylings to play a metaphorically moustache-twirling villain, but the two sisters she’s set to terrify include Arielle Kebbel and Emily Browning.

Kebbel, 23, is best known for her roles as a prudish piccolo player in “American Pie: Band Camp,” a high school co-ed stalked by vengeful spirits in “The Grudge 2″ and an academic overachiever burned by her philandering boyfriend in “John Tucker Must Die.”

Browning, of course, was the inventive Violet Baudelaire to Jim Carrey’s malevolent Count Olaf in 2004′s “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.” The now-20-year-old hasn’t appeared in much since then, but we’re eager to see her flex her acting muscles and horrified faces alongside Banks’apparently murderous character.
